Keeping the bed room danger free

February 8th, 2010

When it comes to kids, it seems the chances of an accident increase 100 fold. So let us peek at some tips to help prevent accidents at home.

1. Kid’s love to climb on stuff so it’s important that you have everything anchored down really good. Book shelves and night stands are the most common thing for tipping over. If possible, you should bolt the book shelf to the wall and use a shorter and heavier night stand in the room. If you have put things together yourself, such as a bed, make sure that it is really sturdy. Kids are notorious for jumping on beds and they will do it.
2. You may love your hardwood or tiled floors but these are dangers for children. They are always slippery when wearing slippers or if something has spilt on them. You should buy some cheap area rugs or carpet to cover the main walking areas. I’ve even heard people putting hello kitty bedding on the floor as a blanket.

These are only a few suggestions you can do to keep your house safe for kid’s. Always be on the lookout for dangers you might have not seen.
